Dr. Achira Endocrinology and Weight Loss Center
4700 Greenfield Rd Suite 2 C, Dearborn, MI 48126, USA
I initially gave this office a bad review because I did not like how we were treated by the front desk, but once we saw Dr. Achira, my perspective changed. He was super nice and professional and made sure my mom was prioritized as a patient. Definitely would recommend. Also he personally gave me a call after seeing the review wanting to see what went wrong and what action he can take to fix it. That confirmed he cares about his patients and their needs and thoughts.
Metro Detroit Endocrinology Center
5250 Auto Club Dr #200, Dearborn, MI 48126, USA
If I could give less stars, I would. I had been seeing Dr. Saleh for approximately 4 years. When he left his own practice and joined this one, I knew immediately it would be bad. The office staff wants everybody to check in using the healow app, which would be fine if when the staff calls you the day before your appointment and told you that's what they are requesting, but that's not what they did. The office manager just shouted at everyone waiting in line to scan the QR code to check in using the healow app. There are 5 people sitting at the front desk who can assist patients, but obviously that is not a priority. The healow app pushes patients to sign up for Care Credit, which is not something I wanted to do. They also will not allow you to bypass the copay section because this office said I had a $40 copay, even though I spoke with my insurance during check in and was told I had met my deductible and co-insurance, so I should not have a copay. I waited an hour after my appointment time to be taken back to the exam room. The exam room had no sink or hand sanitizing station for the provider to clean their hands. There is no outlet cover on the light switch or the electrical outlet. There are random wires hanging from the ceiling tiles, which are broken. There were also peanut shells on the floor, which is concerning for anyone who may have an allergy, that these rooms are not cleaned. The medical assistant asked me questions that should have already been put onto my record, which leaves me wondering what they are actually documenting. I spent a total of 8 minutes with the nurse practitioner and Dr. Saleh, both who told me I hadn't had bloodwork done prior to this appointment. I had, it just hadn't posted into their system yet, but it was very much appreciated that they insinuated that I did the wrong bloodwork, hadn't done any bloodwork, or just didn't listen to what I was saying. I will not be returning here.
Chandra M. Edwin, MD
3901 Beaubien Blvd, Detroit, MI 48201, USA
Dr. Edwin diagnosed me with Type 1 diabetes in 1988. I was 6 years old. I thought of her as family, growing up under her care. She was genuine and patient. I remember one time leaving the office and she was talking to a child in the waiting room. You could just hear her genuine passion to help. Her walls were covered in photos of her patients growing up. We all loved her! I wasn't an easy child, extremely obstinate and difficult. I refused to take care of myself, but she never gave up on me. I have an 18 month old now, at 35, and, even though she is not diabetic, I wish that I could take her to see Dr. Edwin. I only want the best for my daughter and Dr. Edwin is the VERY best. She puts her whole heart into everything!
Dr. Ali Achira Endocrinology and Weight Loss Clinic
4700 Greenfield Rd Suite 2C, Dearborn, MI 48126, USA
I can’t really say anything bad because he did help me understand the thyroid issue, as well as helped me lose some weight. Today, I saw another side of him. I have been going to him for years with no issue of insurance. My insurance was changed, and I told him that I would be leaving his office because he didn’t accept my insurance. He asked me what type of insurance I had and I told him ( this was back in March)…. when he told me that he accepted my type of insurance, I was happy because once again I appreciate him for helping me to understand what I was going through…… well today I’m not sure if he was having a bad day or whatever but the way that he spoke to me in front of his staff and other patients that were standing in the hall waiting to get checked out was a shock to me. The issue was he said I owed on my account. At that time we were sitting in the room with the door closed . So he showed me where my insurance declined the payment and they put $112 off on me as patient responsibility. OK, I’ll take care of the $112, but then he opened the door and went out into the hallway, and the way he spoke to me and told me that he can’t see me and I need to go find another Doctor who will take my insurance because he’s not gonna do it anymore. He was very very rude and I really held my composure. I get out to my car in tears and I called my insurance company to find out why they had not paid him. My insurance company in turn told me that they received paperwork to be authorized to do certain stuff . She said they approved the request for what he requested. She said, but when he billed them, he billed them for extra stuff that they did not approve him for and that’s why it was not paid. So it seems like he got mad at me for something that wasn’t my fault. I don’t send in request for approvals or anything like that, so it wasn’t my fault. If him or his staff sent something in to get approval for, then he should have just billed for that. I asked him even if they pay the bill, can I come back because like I said, I like him as a doctor, and he told me no find another doctor to go to. I guess that’s because he knew they’re not gonna pay it because him or whoever does his billing messed up .So guess what, I will find another Dr. I wish him nothing but the best, but Today when I left out the office in tears because of his tone, his demeanor, his body language, and the embarrassment of discussing my business in front of patients and his staff, that was enough for me. It really upset me and pissed me off because I don’t know if he was having a bad day, somebody pissed him off or whatever, but as a professional, I feel he should have handled himself a lot better than that. I expected better than that from him.
