Brandon D. Barthel, MD
2310 Holmes St, Kansas City, MO 64108, USA
I have been seeing endocrinologists for more than 30 years and I have never had HALF as good an endo--or any other kind of doctor--as Dr. Barthel. If you, like me, are a beleaguered type 1 diabetic whose highest hopes for endos have been "please fill the same scripts I've been on for a decade and don't yell at me if my A1C goes up sometimes," prepare to be astonished by Dr. Barthel's genuinely high quality of care. He is thoughtful, respectful, thorough, and an effective communicator (and he has type 1 himself--always a plus). If he moves states, I'll be buying plane tickets every 6 months to see him.
Chitra Choudhary, MD

Candice E Rose, MD
4000 Cambridge St, Kansas City, KS 66160, USA
I realized in March I did not have an appointment with Dr Rose. I immediately made one for soonest available which is coming in October (6 months later). I asked to be a fill in for any cancellations. That, lapse is completely my fault. This week the doctor's office shut off my prescriptions because it's been over a year. I started on a Wednesday trying to fill my Lyrica prescription and called daily. They called me at 4:00 Friday afternoon to let me know. When I got upset they hung up on me. Maybe it's easy to do when you don't deal with chronic pain. I also give myself one star, for the late appointment and when I lost it on the nurse that could care less. It's probably like this every where but I feel I'm just a number waiting in line.

Dr. Orr might be the most incompetent provider I have met! After sitting in the waiting room 30 min past my appointment time we maybe spent 10-15min talking where I tried to talk and she repeatedly interrupted me and went off topic. While I was simply trying to list what was going on with me to get to why I was there - she was not only loudly/blatantly dismissive but interjected every other word to find some argument in just about everything I said before I could even finish a thought. Then at one point (out of nowhere) this woman interrupted me to say they don’t do weight loss shots, which beyond pissed me off bc at no time did I even imply I would ever even consider that poison - completely inappropriate. She then felt a need to fixate on and lecture me about being keto saying it was bad/unhealthy (She is clearly not a dietitian and I didn’t at any time ask for her opinion on my eating habits), she THEN started making made weird random comments about ‘crunchi’ people and their diets which I actually had to look up when I left because I had NO idea what she was talking about or implying bringing that up, and THEN this woman proceeded to state perimenopause isn’t ‘real’ bc most women are close to 50 when they complete menopause - she is NOT the brightest to say it nicely. Absolutely no women who wants answers or to find a solution to suspected hormonal issues should see this doctor - Nor should someone with diabetes IMO as my T1 diabetic husband (along with MANY others) have gotten off multiple meds thanks to his ‘unhealthy’ keto lifestyle and would disagree with the misinformation being given to patients by this woman. My honest impression/opinion- this is a doctor with a nonexistent bedside manner, who flat out doesn’t listen, and likely keeps patients sick bc I know I stopped even bothering a few minutes in when it became clear her only objective was to be the smartest person in the room and not let me talk. Oh, she did reluctantly order labs while condescendingly going on and on saying they would just come back normal…Even if they didn’t - As if I would ever come back to talk to you after this visit lady!
